Live Shot 'swift-boated' again!

Sen. Kerry ducks $500 grand sales tax by docking yacht in RI

Forget “Isabel” - Liveshot Kerry should rename his $7 million sloop “The Botched Joke.”

You remember that was how he tried to explain away his nasty little dig at the military, back in 2006, saying that if kids don’t study hard, they’ll end up in Iraq. He said it was a botched joke. So I wonder how Liveshot is trying to explain this latest botched joke to his ancient gold-digging bride in her $9.2 million mansion on Brant Point in Nantucket.

Lovey, they’re swift-boating me again!

This is the most amusing story of the summer, by far. Great work, Inside Track. You can tell how devastating it is by the way the Globe is giving it a good leaving-alone, with wire copy. Yes, the Globe, the same dying broadsheet that railed for days about how two small-fry pols named Christy Mihos and Jack E. Robinson were trying to avoid paying their, uh, fair share of taxes on boats that were basically dinghies, at least compared to the Botched Joke.

Of course the difference was Mihos and Robinson were Republicans. Liveshot is one of the Beautiful People. Nothing to see here folks, move along. Filthy-rich Democrats refusing to pay their taxes isn’t news. Just ask Charlie Rangel, or Tim Geithner, or Tom Daschle.

Do as I say, not as I do. Taxes for thee but not for me. Just like when the Kennedys were allowed to file Rose’s will for probate in low-tax Florida, even though she hadn’t left Massachusetts for the last 12 years of her life.

John Kerry was for higher taxes before he was against them.

If he doesn’t like the name Botched Joke, perhaps Liveshot could take a hint from an old Beach Boys song and call it the Sloop Tax Free. Or go further back in musical history and lift the title of an old Louie Prima tune - the S.S. Just a Gigolo. Or the S.S. Manny Ortiz, or the S.S. Flip Flop.

Or maybe the S.S. Do You Know Who I Am?

Now Kerry’s flack says: Why of course the senior senator would be willing to pay the $500,000 or so he owes the commonwealth. Correction: Kerry won’t pay, his second wife’s first husband’s trust fund will pay.

All that Vietnam-era nautical training has taught him how to take evasive action . . . tax evasion.

A 76-foot boat - do you suppose Liveshot has a crew for it? I’m sure he’s not forgetting to pay their taxes, FICA, Medicare, etc.

Think how many of those Guatemalan illegals he wants to remain in the country on welfare could live in luxury on the Botched Joke. Auntie Zeituni would love a spin in the harbor.

Some people seemed surprised that Liveshot would have the boat built outside the country, I mean considering his daily professions of concern for the plight of jobless working-class Americans. But remember, until he started running for president, he was the proud owner of an imported Ducati motorcycle. By the time he went on with Jay Leno, he’d switched to a Harley. Wisconsin is a swing state, after all.

Liveshot, for once in your vain, shameless life, do the right thing. After all, it’s not like you actually earned the money. And it’s for the children.

President Obama's manth leaves us broke

How big government ruins lives

“I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits, either now or in the future,” Barack Obama swore to us during the health care debate. Some 2.5 trillion dimes later, it’s clear the president had no idea what he was talking about.

The latest numbers from the Congressional Budget Office project that Obamacare will drive up deficits by $250 billion in the first 10 years. Then again, the CBO also predicted that the original Medicare program would only cost $12 billion by 1990. Its actual price tag was $110 billion.

Missed it by that much.

Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, it doesn’t seem to matter. People in politics are almost always lousy at math. You know about Obama’s $787 billion stimulus plan? The one the White House promised would keep unemployment below 8 percent? Today’s rate is 9.5 percent - and that number is artificially low because people who’ve simply given up hope and stopped looking for work aren’t counted.

The New York Times reported last week that “real” unemployment for 18 to 29-year-olds is 37 percent - “a rate reminiscent of the 1930s.”

What you probably don’t know is that Obama and the Democrats actually passed another multi-billion dollar stimulus last year and are trying to push through a third one now. In fact, according to Stephen Spruiell in National Review magazine, if you go back to late 2008, we’ve spent $1.085 trillion on “stimulus” already - more than we’ve spent on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

Every new “borrow-and-spend” stimulus dollar dump came with a politician’s promise that it would create jobs. And yet the jobless rate has hardly budged.

You’d think that pouring a trillion into the economy - not to mention the trillions more poured into the money supply by the Fed - would have some impact. How do you spend so much and end up with so few jobs to show for it?

By letting the government spend it, that’s how. The Daily Caller reports that, over the July 4th weekend, Obama announced $2 billion in loan guarantees to solar panel companies to create new green jobs.

“Abengoa Solar, which received $1.45 billion from the Department of Energy, admits on its Web site that it will use the money to build a plant in Arizona that will create only 85 permanent jobs,” notes the Daily Caller. Assuming I’m slightly better at math than the president, that’s more than $17 million per job.

Now just imagine how much your hip replacement is going to cost once Obamacare is fully enacted. That is, assuming the Obamacare Rationing Board lets you have one.

The trillions of new debt-powered spending should have had a major impact on our economy. Instead, we had the worst private-sector job growth for June since the Eisenhower administration, and the stock market swings from tentative hope to full-blown terror.

No wonder a new Rasmussen poll finds that 75 percent of Americans blame budget problems on politicians spending too much rather than taxing too little. Taxing: Giving politicians more money to spend on solar job boondoggles and thousands of other government scams.

The number Obama could use to save the economy is zero. No new taxes, no new policies, no new government initiatives.

The job market would turn around overnight. Alas, zero is the one amount the government just can’t spend.

Lawless state enabled child's rape...

Michael Graham

Yet Mass. pols scorns Arizona's

For a little girl who spent this weekend lying in a Massachusetts hospital, the debate over illegal immigration isn’t about race or politics.

It’s about life and death.

Four-year-old Heidi was brutally raped on Saturday. Now she’s listed in “serious” condition at Baystate Medical Center.

Springfield police have charged 22-year-old Edlizar Mazariegos with aggravated rape of a child with force. Mazariegos, who regularly traveled up and down the East Coast without a driver’s license, is an illegal immigrant. As of this writing, he is on the run from Massachusetts police - likely for the first time ever.

He’s certainly had no need to run before.

This is, after all, “Welcoming Massachusetts,” where liberal Democrats openly support benefits for criminal immigrants and oppose immigration law enforcement.

Gov. Deval Patrick isn’t just ambivalent about border security, he’s openly hostile. He shut down Gov. Mitt Romney’s state police immigration-enforcement program and - in a moment of wince-inducing irony - was on my radio station repeating his opposition to local immigration enforcement even as the Herald was reporting the story of Heidi’s rape on its Web site.

This past weekend, Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona was in Boston for the National Governors Association meeting. She’ll was greeted by protesters from groups who support Patrick’s pro-illegal stance, like the far-left ANSWER Coalition and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Brewer was denounced here by politicians and media pundits alike. But for what?

For a policy that, had it been in place in Massachusetts, could have prevented the rape of this little girl.

Nobody argues that all illegal immigrants are rapists, or that most of them commit violent crime. That’s clearly nonsense.

But what is inarguable is that politicians who allow criminal immigrants to live openly and easily in their states are, at some level, responsible for the crimes they may commit and the corruption they engender.

Rhode Island understands that. When an illegal immigrant kidnapped and raped a woman in 2008 - an illegal immigrant the police had repeatedly arrested and released - Rhode Island politicians came to their senses and began a local enforcement program.

Voters get it, too.

According to Rasmussen Research, 56 percent of Americans oppose the Obama Justice Department’s lawsuit against Arizona, and 61 percent want a similar law in their own state. Among likely voters, 86 percent say immigration will be an important part of how they vote this November.

The question is whether Patrick and Beacon Hill liberals will ever “get it?” Will they be moved by little Heidi’s rape to listen to reason?

I know they won’t because Heidi’s not the first. Nearly every day there’s another story about a crime, crash or con job committed by criminal immigrants here.

Remember the state rep who got rear-ended by an illegal immigrant?

Or the Pakistanis allegedly linked to the Times Square truck bomber?

Or the little boy groped in the bathroom of the Market Basket in Raynham?

And on and on . . .

The sad truth about liberals like Patrick is that for all their “speaking truth to power” rhetoric, they lack real courage.

Confronting illegal immigration involves entering the political arena of racial and ethic politics. You have to be so committed to doing what’s right and affirming the rule of law that you can withstand the knee-jerk accusations of racism and bigotry.

If you do, you’ll be standing up for innocent victims like Heidi. If you don’t, you’ll be playing cynical race-based politics.

And for Massachusetts Democrats, that’s not even a close call.

Sorry, Heidi.

illegal aliens who committed crimes and gotten away with it.

Jan Brewer's got a good thing cooking

Gov. Brewer's visit Saturday a real welcome

Howie Carr

by Howie Carr
DNN Staff - EXCLUSIVE!
Friday, Jul. 9, 2010 - EXTRA!

Welcome to Boston this weekend, Gov. Jan Brewer.

Pay no attention to any rabble loitering out in the street, jabbering in some strange foreign tongue. It’s funny how we’re always told how they have to live in the shadows, but they always seem to find the time to emerge long enough to throw beer bottles at the police.

But don’t sweat it, Gov. Brewer. The majority - the vast majority - of Americans are on your side.

We are all Arizonans now. We all live in border states. We are all overwhelmed by this invasion, even in here in Massachusetts, where the illegals take time out from rioting after the World Cup games to converge on the State House on an almost weekly basis. Each time they’re brazenly demanding some new handout - more medical care, additional translators, free college tuition, drivers’ licenses.

The demonstrations always take place during business hours, even though I thought they were only here to do the jobs Americans won’t do - like driving drunk in their unregistered, unlicensed, uninspected, uninsured vehicles.

It’s not about immigration. It’s about illegal immigration. You cannot have a society where one group is expected to obey the laws, play by the rules, pay taxes and speak a common language, and another group sneaking in and not asking, but demanding, to be given everything, for free, with no consequences whatsoever for any crimes they commit.

Out of control? Last week the feds arrested two Russian spies in Cambridge. They were of course registered to vote. Nobody bothered to inquire about their “papers,” because that wouldn’t be Politically Correct.

Then a drunk Mexican illegal dressed up in a meringue costume rear-ended a state rep in Brighton. Happy Cinco de Mayo, amigo!

The month before, we celebrated diversity by having a roundup of some illegal Pakistanis who were somehow connected to the would-be Times Square bomber. One of those alleged terror-connected Pakistani cabbies was busted in Boston, home of the meatheads known as the Boston City Council. They passed a resolution demanding a boycott of Arizona.

I guess the Boston City Council is boycotting Boston now that the cabbie was lugged in Allston.

Gov. Brewer, we in Massachusetts support you and Arizona - more than 80 percent on some issues in recent polls. This is why even the Democrat legislature is finally starting to get the message. We can’t take care of every foreign layabout who sneaks into this country and either drops an anchor baby or declares himself a political refugee.

Even further north, in New Hampshire, they’re being overwhelmed. Somehow the illegals have misinterpreted the state motto. It’s “Live Free or Die,” not “Live for Free or Die.”

Oh, yes, we all live in border states now - all 57 of them, by Obama’s count. Our PC fool of a governor tells us with a straight face that what he calls “undocumented workers” can’t get state benefits. But Auntie Zeituni, President Obama’s aunt, squats in public housing, “retired” at age 57.

Every few years we check the tax filings of state legislators, and along with the usual collection of U.S. deadbeats, just about everybody who came over from the Third World doesn’t pay taxes. Where would the likes of Marie St. Fleur and Antonio Cabral ever get the idea that paying taxes is only for the stupid gringos?

We know what you’re going through because we’re going through it, only it’s not as bad - yet. That’s why we paraphrase President Kennedy:

I am an Arizonan.

‘My sympathies are with her,...
‘My sympathies are with her, not the protesters.’ -

Jan Brewer, right, who will be in the Hub Saturday
